Luis Viteri in HOUSE Magazine
Luis Viteri, a principal designer at Showcase Kitchens Massapequa is the second Showcase designer to make an appearance in HOUSE Magazine for March April. Luis was awarded this honor for his amazing remodel job on an old Massapequa home:
The small, dark, 1970’s-era kitchen, located in Massapequa had to go. The client knew they wanted a contemporary, open-plan design and loved a mid-century sensibility. They were eager for the team of Luis Viteri and Melissa Sacco to achieve their vision. A major weight-bearing wall was eliminated, necessitating a wide-gauge steel beam allowing for the one large kitchen/dining/living room. Without columns, accommodations were made structurally that added warmth – as in the pitched ceiling detailing. Viteri selected dark elm Italian Cesar cabinets for the kitchen - contemporary design with the warmth of the wood. Complimenting Viteri’s kitchen design was the mid-century lighting schematic and furnishings chosen by the homeowners with Melissa Sacco.
An award winning designer, Luis Viteri is a well known Long Island Kitchen designer. He, along with Michael Rosenberg, runs the South Shore Showcase Kitchens location at 5340 Merrick Road, Massapequa. He can be contacted at 516-799-9090 or at firstname.lastname@example.org. Luis began working with the Starck family in 1987 upon graduation from City College, where he earned a BA degree in studio art. He received in-depth training in theory and practice in the visual arts, which set a foundation in design. According to Luis, his experience includes “any room in the house.” During the course of his career, he has produced a wide range of designs including libraries, mud rooms and kitchens, from contemporary to traditional styles. He enjoys listening to the client’s specific working space needs and designing the specifics to fit those needs, such as cooking hearths, hutches and islands. This knowledgeable designer says he loves “the challenge of scaling these components to a room and designing them so they relate well to one another.”
“Luis is a very, very patient person. We changed the design of our kitchen 10 times since the beginning. If I had to rate him on a scale of 1 to 100, I would give him a 150. He gave us a lot of options. The layout is just beautiful and he did a magnificent job. He really put a lot of effort and time into it. He’s courteous, personable and goes above and beyond. I had always heard good things about Showcase Kitchens, but going through the actual experience confirms everything I have heard.”

“I hired a decorator for advice, who recommended Showcase Kitchens. Luis greeted me at the door and explained what the company does. I was looking for a specific style, a farmhouse kitchen. I got exactly what I wanted and more. Luis was the main designer. He was very patient. He gave me all the things I was looking for in a kitchen. No detail was overlooked. I was very happy. It’s an amazing kitchen.”

“Our son and daughter-in-law in Manhasset had their kitchen done by Showcase Kitchens and recommended the company to us. Luis was very easy to work with. He was warm, friendly and always available. He designed an entire renovation of our 15-year0old kitchen. It’s an octagonal shape and required special attention to details. He was able to make use of the corner spaces. The design was carried out in accordance with our desires, and he listened to my wife’s every whim. We chose bamboo cabinetry with granite countertops. We wanted amber-colored glass to light the upper cabinets, and he was able to incorporate that into the design.”
